This week's SoReg Review is brought to you from the home of Keira Walsh, Anna Friel, Bill Oddie, Gracie Fields and, of course, The Co-Op. Stuck in endless meetings all week, hence the late delivery and brevity of this week's edition. It was FA Cup weekend last week and I'm pleased to report that six SoReg teams have made it through to the First Round. Around the leagues, Fleet Town won at home for the first time this season. Abingdon United climbed back to the top of the North and, in the South, Bournemouth Sports Reserves regained their top spot with a win at Havant & Waterlooville. Fleet Town 7-0 Woodley United Fleet registered their first home win of the season, consigning Woodley to a second heavy league defeat. Two goals each from Layla Drury and Avery Tolley, plus additional strikes from Emily Hulford-Funnell, Zoe Luff and Jocelyn Elleby, saw Town cruise to victory. Chesham United Development 0-1 Tilehurst Panthers After last week's win a Kidlington, Chesham were hoping to push on. However, Tilehurst's Leah Why had other ideas, scoring midway through the first half to continue her side's 100% away record without conceding a goal. Farnborough 0-4 Abingdon United Development United got back into winning ways and regained top spot thanks to a solid victory at the Easy As HGV Stadium. Captain Beth Hawtin led the way with two goals, supported by a goal each from April England and Olivia Ward. Kidlington Youth 4-4 Slough Town A first point of the season for Kidlington, fighting back from behind twice and getting a very late equaliser. Slough led 3-1 at the break thanks to Hannah Summers, Gemma Lunn and Aimee Roberts, who also grabbed a second later in the game. Kidlington's fight back was in no small part down to Kiera Isaac's hat-trick, aided by a strike from Emily Keal. Watch three of the Slough goals on their X feed. Larkspur Rovers P-P Ascot United Reserves Milton United 0-6 Oxford City Development United's bad start continued as they slipped to a second league defeat without scoring. City kept pace with Abingdon, level on points but in second on goal difference. Megan Fillary scored twice with Tilly Anthony, Olivia Day, Abbie Johnson and Michaela Hanlon adding the other goals. Andover New Street 8-0 Bemerton Heath Harlequins After a defeat and a draw, New Street bounced right back with a big home victory over Harlequins. Freya Twigg and Zoe Ridley led the way with two goals each. Olivia Payne, Rebecca Screech and Keira Smith were also on target. Havant & Waterlooville 1-3 Bournemouth Sports Reserves Sports bounced back from last week's home defeat to AFC Varsity (blog) with a superb 3-1 win at Westleigh Park. Two goals from Freya Jennings saw the visitors go two up within 37 minutes. However, Jodie Burchell pulled one back for The Hawks just after the restart. Kaitlyn Elliott sealed it for Sports with nine minutes to go. Nursling & Shirley P-P AFC Varsity Shaftesbury 0-3 Guernsey Goalless at the break, The Green Lionesses took the lead through top scorer Calleigh Hedley. It was two before the hour thanks to Scarlett Kenneally. Ruby Smith sealed it with two minutes of normal time remaining. AFC Portchester 19-0 Weymouth Portchy progressed to the 1st Round of the cup with resounding victory over Weymouth. Gemma Hillier Mia Adaway, and Charmaine True each scored twice but were upstaged by Sarah Butterworth's four goals and Rebecca Bath's double hat-trick. Laurie Potvin and Millie Bradbury were also on target. Portchester now face a home tie with Gloucester City in the First Round. AFC Stoneham 0-2 Gloucester City Goals from Emine Akkurt, after 12 minutes, and Sachi Kaneko-Grun, six minutes past the hour, was enough for City to book themselves a spot in the next round. They will now travel to AFC Portchester. Beaconsfield Town 0-6 Chatham Town The Rams went were still holding their National League opponents to 0-0 at the break. However, Chatham turned up the heat in the second half, scoring six unanswered goals to progress. Chatham travel to AFC Wimbledon in the next round. Bridgewater United 8-1 Bursledon The Dons had no answer to their National League opponents, two divisions above them in the pyramid. Abbie Carslake hit a double, with Keeley Banfield, Ellie-Mae Bell, Aimee Kingdon, Beatriz Kretteis, Ellie-Mae Miller and Connie Pengelly also getting on the sheet. Bridgwater now travel to Wycombe Wanderers in Round One Farnham Town 7-1 Eastbourne Borough Town's superb start to the season continued with a thumping cup victory at The Memorial Ground. Maya Adams set them on the way after just 2 minutes. Iesha Swaby doubled the lead on 14 minutes and Echo Barrett added a third six minutes later. Adams added her second goal to give Farnham a 4-0 lead at the break. Shortly after the restart Borough pulled a goal back, but that was almost immediately countered by a goal from Efrosyni Theocharus. Emily Foss scored the sixth before Rebecca Price rounded off the scoring. Watch the highlights on Farnham's YouTube channel Farnham now take on Leyton Orient at home. Feniton 0-4 Wimborne Town Wimborne put their league form behind them as they progressed to Round One of the FA Cup with a comfortable victory at Feniton. Three to the good at the break through Ellie Chaffe, Grace Batsford and Sheree Bell-Jack. Brooke Suddaby added another in the second half to seal the win. The Magpies now travel to Bowers & Pitsea in the next round. Maidstone United 4-2 Badshot Lea The Baggies were holding Maidstone to a 2-2 draw at the interval but couldn't keep it up in the second half. Maidstone travel to Plymouth Argyle in Round One. Oxford City 3-3 (p5-3) Denham United Denham ran their Premier League opponents very close before going out on penalties. Daisy Baranowski had put United in front before Ellie White levelled the scores. Lauren Cox then put Denham back in front after half-time before Annie Hewitt made it 3-1 to United. However, Ellie White pulled one back from the spot. Grace Craven then scored a late, birthday goal to send the game to penalties. City have been drawn at home to Sherborne Town Torquay 3-2 Southampton Southampton led 1-0 at the break through Isobel Conti's early strike. Torquay then hit them with two goals inside the opening 15 second half minutes through Roxylea Thomas and Emily Elliott, only for Hannah Francis to immediately level it up. However, there was heartbreak for The Sirens when Jasmine Baker scored a 95th minute winner. Torquay now face a Devon derby as they take on Exeter City at home. winner - https://x.com/TUFCWomen/status/1974852207775461407 Reading 1-2 Brentford Reading went out of the FA Cup after goals from Khyri McKenzie and Maddie Phillips gave The Bees a two goal advantage. Keren Banduka did grab a 99th minute consolation, but it was all too late for The Royals. Brentford will now take on Sutton United at home in the next round. Sutton United 5-2 Penn & Tylers Green Shannon Read and Tara Woodward scored for Penn but it was not enough for them, as they crashed out of the cup in South West London. Sutton now travel to Brentford in Round One. Winchester City Flyers 1-0 Yeovil Town A Shayne Prasad goal in the 34th minute was enough to see Flyers progress to the First Round of the FA Cup, where they'll entertain National League Premier South side Gwalia United. You can read the match report on the Flyers web site. Wycombe Wanderers 4-2 Chesham United A stunning comeback from The Chairgirls who were two down at the break thanks to goals from Victoria Collett and Elsa Walker. Ignoring the fact that their opponents play one league above them, Wycombe stormed back after the restart. Two goals in two minutes from Chloe Melton had them level before Jessica Watkins and Kayla Potter sealed the deal. Wycombe have been drawn at home to Bridgwater United in Round One. AFC Portchester v Oxford City Both sides progressed to the First Round of the FA Cup over the weekend. Now it's back to league action. Two points separate them currently, with Portchester having the edge. Last season a Charlotte Keenan hat-trick help Portchy to a 7-2 victory in this fixture. Wicor Recreation Ground, Cranleigh Road, Fareham, Hampshire PO16 9DP Badshot Lea v Fleet Town The Baggies have yet to find a league point in their opening four games and were knocked out of the cup by Maidstone at the weekend. Fleet were in league action, putting seven unanswered goals past Woodley. Westfield Lane, Wrecclesham GU10 4PF Southampton Women v Sholing A mixed bag so far for these two. Sholing have won just one league game, but did have a thumping SDFA win at the weekend. Southampton have won one, drawn one and lost one in the league. They'll be defending a 100% away record, albeit only one game. Test Park Sports Ground, Southampton, SO16 9QZ Winchester City Flyers v Beaconsfield Town Third versus second as it stands. City have won both home league games so far, clocking up 11 goals in the process. Meanwhile, The Rams have a 100% away record and have only conceded two on the road. So, something has to give on Sunday. Hiller Way, Winchester SO50 7SU Woodley United v Reading It's been a terrible start to the season for Woodley, who have lost both league games and gone out of the FA Cup. A 7-0 defeat at Fleet on Sunday was hardly good preparation for this local derby. Reading also lost at the weekend, going down 2-1 to Brentford in the FA Cup. Bulmershe Pavilion, RG5 3HE Denham United v Chesham United Development Chesham failed to push on from their win at Kidlington two weeks ago, and now face a trip to a Denham side boasting a 100% league record. Denham pushed Premier League side Oxford City to penalties last weekend, before bowing out of the FA Cup. The Den, Oxford Road, Denham, UB9 4DW Farnborough v Ascot United Reserves After yet another postponement at thew weekend, Ascot will be hoping to play just their third league game of the season. Farnborough, two places and two points above their visitors, went down 4-0 at home to Abingdon last weekend. The Easy As HGV Stadium, Farnborough, GU14 8UD Kidlington Youth v Abingdon United Development The Greens snatched their first point of the season with a late equaliser on Sunday. They now face the tough test of the league leaders coming to town. Abingdon regained that position with a 4-0 win at Farnborough at the weekend. This game finished all square last season. Yarnton Road, Kidlington, OX5 1AT Oxford City Development v Tilehurst Panthers City's 6-0 defeat of Milton keeps them level on points with the leaders at the top, albeit having played a game more. Panthers are just three points back with two games in hand. City have a 100% home record, Panthers a 100% away record (without conceding yet). So, again, something has to give in this one. Venue: Oxford City Women & Girls Development Penn & Tylers Green v Milton United Three defeats in league and cup with no goals scored yet. Milton are struggling to get their season going. A visit to last season's runners-up is probably not highest on their wish list. Penn have won both of their league games this season but did go out of the cup on Sunday, losing 5-2 to Sutton United. French School Meadow, Elm Road, Penn HP10 8LG Slough Town v Larkspur Rovers Slough's three league points this season have all come from draws on the road, although this will only be their second home game. Rovers have won two of their three outings so far, although they did lose last time out, a 4-1 defeat at Oxford City Devs. Arbour Park, Stoke Road, Slough SL2 5AY AFC Varsity v Havant & Waterlooville
These two teams are locked together on six points in mid-table with Havant edging it on goal difference, but Varsity having a game in hand. Last season a single Emily Wernham goal gave The Hawks the three points. Hatches Farm Sports Ground, SO51 6EA Bournemouth Sports Reserves v Nursling & Shirley Sports leapt back into top spot at the weekend but have played more games than anyone else. They'll be keen to keep up the pace at the top against a Nursling & Shirley side who have lost all three league outings so far, without scoring. Last season this fixture ended 6-0 to Bournemouth with Emma Acott scoring four of the goals. Chapel Gate, East Parley, BH23 6BL Bursledon v Andover New Street It's been less than a month since these two sides met in the FA Cup. Bursledon were victorious on that occasion, Rosina Foulkes scoring twice in a 4-2 win that saw New Street reduced to ten when Ruby Allen saw red. Toynbee School, Eastleigh SO53 2PL Guernsey v AFC Stoneham The Purps travel to Guernsey, taking their 100% league record with them. Stoneham have already scored 19 goals in their three league outings and, as we have seen already, Guernsey games produce goals. Will we see another goal-fest on Sunday? Victoria Avenue, Guernsey GY2 4BB Shaftesbury v Bemerton Heath Harlequins Something of a local derby with the home side in need of points to kickstart their campaign. Having lost their opening three without yet scoring a goal, Shaftesbury will be keen to get off the mark. Harlequins have won two and lost two in a reasonably good start to their life in the Southern Region League. Coppice Street, SP7 8PD Wimborne Town v Farnham Town Both sides had good cup wins at the weekend, but their league form couldn't be more different. Whilst Farnham have started like a train, winning both games and scoring nine goals, The Magpies have yet to pick up a point and have conceded four or more in each game so far. Wyatt Homes Stadium, Wimborne BH21 2FU
